Anti-Wrinkle Injections Exeter
Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Botox) Exeter
At Exthetics, we offer safe and subtle anti wrinkle injections in Exeter, performed by qualified nurses using Botulinum Toxin (Botox).
As one of Exeter’s trusted nurse-led clinics, Exthetics provides Botox treatment tailored to your face, never a one-size-fits-all approach.
This medically backed treatment softens fine lines, smooths dynamic wrinkles, and helps prevent deeper lines from forming, keeping you looking refreshed, never frozen.
What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Botulinum Toxin (commonly known as Botox) is a purified protein that temporarily reduces muscle activity in specific areas of the face. As a result, wrinkles caused by repeated expressions are softened and prevented from deepening.
Common areas treated:
Forehead lines
Frown lines (glabella)
Crow’s feet (laughter lines)
Bunny lines (sides of the nose)
Drooping brows
Chin dimpling
Gummy smile
Chin dimpling
We also offer advanced Botox for:
- Jawline slimming / teeth grinding
- Neck bands (platysmal lines)
- Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
This treatment is ideal for patients wanting a refreshed, rested look without looking “done.”
What to Expect From Treatment
Anti-wrinkle injections are quick, effective and require minimal downtime. You’ll begin to see results within 3–14 days, and they typically last 3–4 months, depending on your individual response.
When performed by our qualified medical professionals, this treatment is both safe and natural-looking. Many clients choose Botox not only to reduce visible lines but also as a preventative measure to delay the onset of deeper wrinkles.

What is the difference between Botox and anti-wrinkle injections?
Botox is a brand name, much like Hoover is to vacuum cleaners. Anti-wrinkle injections is the clinical term used to describe treatments using Botulinum Toxin, of which Botox is one type. At Exthetics, we use Botulinum Toxin to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause expression lines, resulting in smoother, softer skin. When people search for Botox in Exeter, they are typically looking for exactly what we offer a safe, nurse-administered anti-wrinkle treatment with natural-looking results.
What's the best age to start Botox?
There is no single correct age to start anti-wrinkle injections. It depends on your individual skin, genetics, lifestyle, and personal goals. Some patients begin in their late twenties or early thirties as a preventative measure, before deeper lines have formed. Others start later, in their forties or fifties, to address existing lines. At Exthetics, we see patients across a wide age range and tailor every treatment plan accordingly. What matters most is not age but suitability, which we assess properly during a consultation before any treatment takes place.
Who is the best person to get Botox from?
Anti-wrinkle injections should only be administered by a qualified medical professional. Ideally a registered nurse, doctor, or dentist with specialist training in aesthetic medicine. Since 2023, UK law requires that Botox and other prescription-only medicines used in aesthetics are prescribed and overseen by a prescribing clinician. At Exthetics, all treatments are performed by Anna, a registered nurse with advanced aesthetic training. We believe that safety, anatomy knowledge, and clinical judgement are non-negotiable, not optional extras.
Is Botox safe? What are the risks?
When administered by a qualified medical professional, anti-wrinkle injections are considered safe and well-tolerated. At Exthetics, all treatments are performed by experienced nurses with a thorough understanding of facial anatomy.
As with any injectable treatment, there are potential side effects including temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Serious complications are rare when treatment is carried out by a trained professional.
We always conduct a full consultation before treatment to assess suitability and discuss any concerns.
Who performs anti-wrinkle injections at Exthetics in Exeter?
All injectable treatments at Exthetics are performed by Anna, a registered nurse prescriber with specialist training in aesthetic medicine.
As a nurse-led clinic, patient safety and clinical standards are at the centre of everything we do. We believe that aesthetic treatments should only be carried out by qualified medical professionals who understand both the cosmetic and clinical aspects of facial anatomy.

How much do anti-wrinkle injections cost in Exeter?
At Exthetics, anti-wrinkle injections start from £185 for one area, £230 for two areas, and £275 for three areas.
Specialist treatments such as masseter jaw slimming start from £300 and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) from £395. All treatments are carried out by qualified nurses and include a thorough consultation to ensure the treatment is right for you. Pricing is transparent – there are no hidden costs or upselling.
Does Botox hurt?
Anti-wrinkle injections cause minimal discomfort, most patients describe the sensation as a brief pinch that passes almost immediately.
The needles used are very fine, and treatment typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes in total. No anaesthesia is required. Any discomfort passes almost immediately after each injection.
Patients who are particularly sensitive can discuss options during their consultation, though the majority find the treatment far more comfortable than they expected.
Will I look frozen or unnatural after Botox?
Not at Exthetics. The frozen look associated with Botox is the result of over-treatment, too much product placed without consideration for individual facial movement and expression.
Our approach is conservative by design. We use precise amounts in targeted areas to soften lines while preserving your natural expressions. The goal is always a refreshed, rested appearance, not a face that looks treated.
We would rather you leave looking like a better version of yourself than a noticeably altered one.
How quickly will I see results from anti-wrinkle injections?
Results from anti-wrinkle injections are not immediate. You will begin to notice the treatment taking effect within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible at around 10 to 14 days.
This is why we offer a complimentary review appointment two weeks after treatment, to assess the results and make any minor adjustments if needed.
It is important not to judge the outcome too soon, as the product continues to settle during the first two weeks.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
Results typically last between 3 and 4 months, though this varies depending on the individual, the area treated, and lifestyle factors such as exercise levels and metabolism.
First-time patients may find results fade slightly sooner as the muscles are not yet accustomed to the treatment. Many patients choose to return every 3 to 4 months to maintain their results.
Over time, some patients find they need treatment less frequently as the muscles gradually become less active.
How often should I get anti-wrinkle injections?
Most patients return for anti-wrinkle injections every 3 to 4 months to maintain their results. Over time, with regular treatment, some patients find they can extend the interval slightly as the muscles gradually become less active.
We do not recommend having treatment more frequently than every 10 to 12 weeks. At Exthetics, we work with each patient to find a treatment schedule that suits their lifestyle and goals, there is no pressure to return before it is genuinely needed.
What is the 4-hour rule for Botox?
The 4-hour rule refers to the advice to remain upright for at least four hours after receiving anti-wrinkle injections.
Lying down too soon after treatment is thought to increase the risk of the product migrating away from the intended area before it has fully settled.
At Exthetics, we provide full aftercare instructions at your appointment, including guidance on sleeping position, exercise, and activities to avoid in the first 24 hours. Following these instructions carefully helps ensure the best possible results.
Can you exercise after Botox?
We advise avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours after anti-wrinkle injections. Increased blood flow from exercise can cause the product to migrate from the injection site before it has fully settled, which may affect results.
Light activity such as walking is generally fine. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal exercise routine. If you are planning a workout or sports event, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least 48 hours beforehand.
What should I avoid after anti-wrinkle injections?
In the 24 hours following treatment, we advise avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, lying flat, and touching or rubbing the treated areas. Avoid facials, saunas, and sunbeds for at least 48 hours.
These precautions help ensure the product settles correctly and reduces the risk of migration or bruising. Full aftercare guidance is provided at your appointment. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment with no visible signs that anything has been done.
